Winner of three West Division titles, Texas Rangers is were formerly called as the Washington Senators. They are currently based in Arlington, Texas which is a suburb in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and are playing in the West Division of the American League. It was on March 19, 2007 when the team had changed the name of their ballpark to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Among the team’s well established players are Mark Teixeira and Nolan Ryan.

During the first season of the team as Washington Senators, they were able to win only one season and that was in 1969. In that time, Frank Howard became the team’s most accomplished player and it was Ted Williams who managed the team in 1969 to 1971. In the 1980s and 1990s, the team’s key players were Nolan Ryan, Juan Gonzalez, Ruben Sierra, Julio Franco, Harold Baines and Rafael Palmeiro. The Rangers had noticeably improved in their playing career and it was in the year 1992 when Valentine was let go as the team’s manager. Kevin Kennedy became the Rangers’ manager in 1993 and in the following year, he was let go by the team.

Alex Rodriguez was signed by the team just before the 2001 season and in the 2003 season, the team unfortunately finished in last place after a postseason fallout season between Alex Rodriguez and the management of the team. The team is currently in the last place during the American League West with a not so good 18-33 record.

Be the first among your friends to own the cool sports items of the Rangers like the team’s Nolan Ryan’s framed dynasty collage, and Mark Teixeira’s signed home jersey in MLBFANSITE.com. People sometimes mistook the Rangers’ name as Tixas Rengers, Texase Rangerrs, Texxas Ranggers, Texas Raingers, Thexas Ranghers, and Texase Ranngers.
