Also known as The Sox, Chicago White Sox had won three World Series titles, 6 American League pennants and two Central Division titles. The team is based in Chicago, Illinois and they are currently playing in the American League Central Division. The team was established in the year 1900 where they were called the White Stockings.
The Chicago White Sox had a good start in the league and was able to win 5 American League pennants from 1900-1959. It was in 1917 when they had dominated the American League with an amazing record of 100-54 and had won by 9 games over the famous Boston Red Sox. In the 1970s, the team had acquired Richie Zisk, Oscar Gamble, and Eric Soderholm. It was in 1983 when the Sox enjoyed their best success in a generation and they were led by Carlton Fisk, Harold Baines, Ron Kittle, and Greg Luzinski. The Sox made it to the American League Championship Series in 1993 as they were led by Thomas, Ventura, Bo Jackson who was a multi-sport star, McDowell and Roberto Hernandez.
In the year 2005, the team had posted the best record in the major leagues. The all-time regular season record of the Sox is 8,300 wins- 8092 losses- 101 ties-3 no-decision. Their team rivals are the Detroit Tigers, Chicago Cubs, Minnesota Twins, Cleveland Indians and Kansas City Royals.
