Title holder of two World Series, Chicago Cubs had also bagged 16 National League pennants, one Central Division title, two East Division titles and one wild card berth. Established in 1876, the Cubs play at Wrigley Field in the North Side Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Also known as The North Siders, the Cubs are among the only two remaining charter members left in the National League. Among the team’s popular players are Sammy Sosa and Derek Lee.
The team is said to have the longest dry spell between championships in the entire four major U.S. sports league where they have failed to win a World Series since the year 1908. For 80 years of playing in the league, the Cubs were considered to be contenders for playing fairly and well and for also winning occasional pennant. It was in the year 1984 when the team was hailed as the champions of the National League East Division and they had won their first two games at Wrigley Field against the famous San Diego Padres. Five years after, the Cubs were able to make it to the National League Championship Series and had played with the San Francisco Giants.
They had won their first division title in 14 years in 2003 in a game against the Atlanta Braves. The Cubs had an inconsistent scoring and playing games in the year 2005 and in the following year, their first baseman, Derrek Lee was injured and they had ended the season with a 66-96 record.
Cubs’ team signed baseball, Cooperstown bat, field seat, jersey, and the team’s Derrek Lee signed big stick name-engraved bat can be collected. The team’s name is sometimes mistaken as Checago Cabs, Chiccago Cubes, Chicagoe Cubbs, Checcago Cabes, and Chicagoe Cabbs.
