Having won 16 Divisional titles, 9 National League pennants, and 3 World Series championships, the Atlanta Braves is considered as one of the most successful teams in baseball. Based in Atlanta, Georgia since 1966, The Braves had been competing in the Eastern Division of the National League.

The first few years of The Braves in Atlanta were proven to be good seasons, achieving 85-77 in 1966, 77-85 in 1967 and 81-81 in 1968 and it was in 1969 when the team had won their first National League West pennant. All throughout the 1980s, the team began a pattern of decline achieving only 65 wins per season between 1985 and 1990. Bobby Cox returned as the team’s general manager during the 1986 season and he created a new lineup of players—Tom Glavine, Steve Avery John Smoltz and Chipper Jones. Continuous division titles were achieved by the team from 1991 to 2005 and in 1995 the Braves won their World Series Title.

It was in 2001 when the Braves won the National League East division title where they won against the Houston Astros but unfortunately lost the game against the Arizona Diamondbacks during the National League Championship Series. For the eleventh consecutive time from 1995 to 2005, the Braves achieved the Eastern Division championship title again.

Among the great sports item of the Atlanta Braves are Chipper Jones’ autographed baseball, Hank Aaron’s signed Atlanta Braves batting helmet, and Andruw Jones MLB. The team’s name is sometimes misspelled as Atlanta Brave, Atlanta Brabes, Atlanta Vraves, Athlanta Braves, Atlenta Bravs and Atlantha Brayvs.
