2001 World Series winner, Arizona Diamondbacks had also won one National League pennant in the same year. Currently based in Phoenix, Arizona, the Diamondbacks had won three remarkable National League West Division titles. They are often called by the press as the D-backs or Snakes. The team’s first major league game was held on March 31, 1998 where they played against the Colorado Rockies. They unfortunately lost to the Rockies with a 9-2 record. It was in the year 2001 when they were led by two of the most dominant pitchers in the league Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling. The team became the youngest expansion franchise to win the World Series where they defeated the well known New York Yankees. They unfortunately had a dismal 51-111 record during the 2004 season and it was the worst record in MLB during that year.

During the 2006 season, the team and the Brewers made a trade and the Diamondbacks traded Johnny Estrada, Greg Aquino and Claudio Vargar for Doug Davis, Dana Eveland and Dave Krynzel. In the 2007 season, the team had planned to change the design of their uniforms and the fans have applauded the redesign of the team’s uniform.
