Nicknamed “Stan the Man”, Stan Musial exclusively owned the Stan Musial autographed ""24 All Star"" baseball, served the St. Loius Cardinals for 22 seasons. Originally named Stanislaw Franciszek Musial, he was born on November 21, 1920, in Donora, Pennsylvania.
Musial started his career as a pitcher in 1940. After incurring a shoulder injury, he moved to the outfield. Although known for his consistent hitting, Musial had a record of 1,890 games in the outfield and 1,016 games at first base. His exceptional performance gave him the top spot in the National League. This allowed Musial to grab the coveted National League Most Valuable Player award in 1943, 1946, and 1948. Sports Illustrated Magazine bestowed on him the honor of being the “Sportsman of the Year” in 1957. During a doubleheader against the New York Giants in 1954, Musial became the only player to hit five homeruns in one day. Musial’s 3,630 career hits earned him the privilege of being the National League’s all-time leader at the time of his retirement. He served as seaman first class in the United States Navy during World War II and missed the 1945 season.
At the end of the 1963 season, Musial retired, bringing with him an astounding 17 Major League, 29 National League, and 9 All-Star game records that also led to the recognition of Stan Musial autographed ""24 All Star"" baseball. In 1968, a statue was put up outside St. Louis’ Busch Memorial Stadium, in honor of “baseball’s perfect warrior and perfect knight”. Stan Musial was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in the following year.
