Considered as one of the most notable players in the history of baseball, Mike Schmidt was born in Dayton, Ohio on September 27, 1949. He played with the Philadelphia Phillies for the rest of his baseball career and his known as the “Captain Cool” in the team. He is best known for his outstanding performance as a third baseman.
During his early age, he was able to shoe his power in playing baseball and was considered as the best player for Bobcats. In his debut in the Major League he was able to show his dominating and ascending power in playing baseball. Through this he was awarded in the Gold Glove awards for 10 times and an All-Star winner for 14 times. He was also voted as one of Baseball’s Hall of Fame.
His name in the baseball continues to boom as he was awarded as the Most Valuable Player in the National League for three times. He was able to set a record of 1595 RBI and 548 home runs. He retired in the baseball league because of his injuries on his back and on his knees.
