Right-handed starting pitcher for the Iowa Cubs is Mark William Prior that exclusively owned the Mark Prior autographed baseball. He was born in San Diego, California on the 7th of September, 1980. He was a Class AAA affiliate of Chicago Cubs in Major League Baseball. His gamut of pitches includes a low to mid 90’s fastball, a curveball, a slurve and a changeup.

Prior finished from University of San Diego High School and was originally drafted by the New York Yankees in the 1998 amateur draft. Unluckily, the Yankees were unable to sign him to a contract. By 2001, he re-entered the amateur draft and was considered to be the top prospect. But Minnesota Twins were warned that Prior didn’t want to play for them and was taken 2nd overall by the Chicago Cubs. In 2003, he finished third in the National League’s Cy Young Award that led to the recognition of Mark Prior autographed baseball.  He was forced to miss the first two months of the 2004 season because of an Achilles tendon injury. But towards the end of the season, he seemed to return to shape.

His 2005 season was again flawed with numerous missed games due to injuries. On May 27, he was hit on his right elbow by a 117-mph comeback line drive off the bat of Brad Hawpe that gave him a compression fracture. When he was off for Spring Training in 2006, he was put on a slow throwing program. After feeling stiffness on his right shoulder, he went to Los Angeles to get an MRI. This was bad luck for him. The results showed that he had a strained shoulder.
