Born on November 18, 1968 in Tampa, Florida is a Major League Baseball, Gary Sheffield bats and throws right handed.
He played various positions in the baseball league. His flexibility made him a right fielder, left fielder, third baseman, shortstop and first baseman. He was with the Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres, Florida Marlins, Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, and New York Yankees. After an amazing career at Hillsborough High School in Tampa, he was placed by the Brewers at the sixth spot in the 1986 amateur draft. He was hailed as one of the six most active players with his 1,293 walks, 119 hit-by-pitches, 2,390 hits, 1,523 RBIs and 474 home runs which is ranked 29th.
Sheffield was a 9-time All-Star and a 4-time Silver Slugger Awardee. He also led the National League in .330 batting average and 323 total bases in 1992. He was a member of the 1997 World Series Champions, Florida Marlins. Fortunately, his Tampa team finished second in the 1980 Little League World Series. He was actually the first player to represent five various teams in the All-Star Game. Finally, he was known for his strange batting stance, of moving his bat back and forth quickly before he swings and for having one of the fastest bat speeds in the Major League Baseball.
