Fergie Jenkins was born on December 13, 1943 in Ontario, Canada. He is a Canadian former right-handed pitcher in the Major League Baseball. He spent most of his career playing with the Chicago Cubs. Though, he also played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Texas Rangers, and Boston Red Sox.
In 1963, he was drafted by the Phillies and signed by Tony Lucadello. He made his debut in MLB as a relief pitcher in 1965. The following year, he was traded to the Chicago Cubs with Adolpho Philips for Larry Jackson and Bob Buhl.
Jenkins had his best season in 1971. He played in the All-Star Game, won the National League Cy Young Award and finished seventh in MVP voting that led to the recognition of Fergie Jenkins autographed HOF 91 inscription baseball.
