Also known as “The Silver Fox” and is best remembered as an excellent outfielder, Duke Snider was born in Los Angeles, California on September 19, 1926. He had contributed much on the Major League Basbell history with his great performances shown in every game they had which brilliantly led to his team’s glorious winnings. Among the teams he had played with are Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, and San Francisco Giants.

 

Even at an early age, Duke Snider had already been a sports fanatic. When he reached high school, he had participated actively in various sporting events including baseball and basketball.

 

Duke Snider started his major league profession on April 17, 947 with the Dodgers. Until his last game on October 3, 1964, he hadn’t brought to a halt his enormous contributions for the teams he belonged in. he had earned various honors from different baseball sporting events which include being the Most Valuable Player for six times. He was also named as the 84th placer in The Sporting News’ list of 100 for being one of the greatest players in the baseball league in the year 1999. He was as well inducted in the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1980.
