Born in Sacramento, California on September 6, 1975 is a first baseman in Major League Baseball. He is Derrek Lee that exclusively signed the Derrek Lee 2003 World Series baseball is currently playing for the Chicago Cubs. He also played with the Sa Diego Padres and Florida Marlins.

After finishing from El Camino High School in 1993, he was drafted in the first round of the 1994 Major League Baseball draft by the Padres and debuted on April 28, 1997. A year later, he was traded top the Florida Marlins and was a member of the 2003 World Series Marlins championship team. Lee was then traded to the Cubs for Hee Seop Choi. In his first year with the Cubs, he hit .278 with 32 home runs and 98 RBI. Lee was named to the U.S. roster for the 2006 World Baseball Clinic, where he was the first player to hit a home run for Team USA. On the 10th of April, 2006, he signed a 5-year, $65 million extension with the Cubs. The deal replaces his contract for the 2006 season and extends him as the first baseman of the Cubs through the 2010 season. Unluckily, he broke his wrist less than two weeks after in a collision involving Rafael Furcal and missed 59 games due to the injury.

In September 2006, his daughter was diagnosed with Leber’s congenital amaurosis. So Lee and the Celtics co-owner and CEO Wyc Grousbeck began Project 3000 in an effort to eradicate the disease affecting both their families. On the 2007 season, he started it with a batting over .400 for most of the first two month of the season.

Grab Lee’s cool items just like the Derrek Lee signed MLB baseball, autographed jersey and the Derrek Lee 2003 World Series baseball. Derek Lee, Derrekk Lee, Derek Li and Derekk Lee are common errors in spelling his name.
