He was born on December 26, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio. Chambliss that exclusively signed the Chris Chambliss MLB baseball was a Major League Baseball player from 1971-1988 for the Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees and Atlanta Braves.
In the free-agent draft on January 17, 1970, the Cleveland Indians chose Chambliss in the first round of the first pick overall. Throughout his career, he was well known for being a great clutch hitter.
In 1971, he was named AL Rookie of the Year. Chambliss then received his only selection to the All-Star team in 1976. During the American League Championship Series, his first-pitch, walk off home run paved way to the Yankees first trip to the World Series since 1964. He was given to the Yankees by the Indians on April 1974 where he hit a two-run homer which helped the Yankees win the game. He also hit a .524 with 2 home runs and eight RBIs making him the hitting star of the 1976 ALCS. In the 1976 World Series against the Cincinnati Reds, Chambliss had hit .313, 5-for-16 with one RBI. Chambliss played three more seasons with the Yankees, winning a Gold Glove for fielding prowess in 1978. He became the manager for the AA London Tigers of the Eastern League and was named Minor League Manager of the Year by The Sporting News making the Chris Chambliss MLB baseball a valuable item to many of his fans. Chambliss was also Yankees’ hitting coach which is eventually followed by the Cincinnati Reds up to October 11, 2006.
