Carlos Delgado is a Major League Baseball first baseman for the New York Mets that had also played with the Toronto Blue Jays in the year 1993 up to 2004 seasons and Florida Marlins in 2005. Carlos Delgado was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on June 25, 1972. He started to play in the league as a catcher and eventually played as a first baseman.
Delgado was known in his first few seasons in the league as one of the most productive sluggers. He was a two-time All Star in 2000 and 2003 seasons and won the Hank Aaron in 2000. In the Sporting News’ Player of the Year Award, Delgado was won the award in the same season of 2000. For three times, he won the Silver Slugger Award in the seasons of 1999, 2000 and 20003.
He was an outstanding achiever who have earned numerous awards and accomplishments in his career. In the 2004 seasons, he became a free agent and after signing the contract with the Marlins, he was successfully transitioned to the National League. It made him to record a batting average of .301, 399 on-base percentage, 33 home runs and RBI of 115. Through the 2006 season of Delgado’s career, he was named as the all-time leader for inter league. He had a career batting average of .282, .390 on-base percentage with 407 home runs and 1, 287 played in 1, 771 games.
