A Major League Baseball outfielder that is playing for the New York Mets, Carlos Beltran was born in Manati, Puerto Rico on April 24, 1977. He was fond of playing volleyball and baseball during his youth.
He made his major league debut on September 14, 1988 where he played with the Kansas City Royals. In his major league debut, Beltran had already played with 14 games and eventually won a job in spring training in 1999 seasons. At that same season, he won the American League Rookie of the Year and thus, started his astounding performance in playing the league.
Beltran played with the Kansas City Royals from 1998 to 2004 seasons, Houston Astros in 2004 and New York Mets from 2005 to the present. In the 2004 season, he was chosen for the 2004 All-Star Game as a starting pitcher in the American League. The following season, Beltran became a free agent and decided to sign with the New York Mets. He is somebody in the league that performed well. Beltran had an excellent fielding skills and a good throwing arm. He had the ability of hitting good batting average, power and steal bases. He won the 2006 NL Gold Glove in 2006 and the Silver Slugger Award.
