The son of former Major league All-Star Bobby Bonds, godson of Hall Famer Willie Mays and a distant cousin of Hall Famer Reggie Jackson, Barry Lamar Bonds was born on July 24, 1964 in Riverside, California. He is also a Major League Baseball player with the San Francisco Giants. He was first drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates and after playing with the Prince William Pirates and Hawaii Islanders, Barry debuted his Major League career on May 30, 1986.
On August 7, 2007, Bonds own his single season Major League home run record after striking his 756th home run against the Washington Nationals. Many of his various single-season and all-time career baseball records include the all-time Major League 757 home run record, the single-season Major League record for 7 home runs, the all-time career leader in both walks and intentional walks and the seven MVP awards.
In 1990, Bonds won his first MVP, Gold Glove and Silver Slugger awards with 33 home runners and 114 RBIs. He was the first National League player to steal 40 bases and hit 40 home runs and became the 4th player in history to steal 300 bases and strike 300 home runs for a major league career.
