Fred Lynn was one of the most popular players to ever sport a Boston Red Sox uniform. A center fielder, Lynn broke into the Major Leagues in 1975 with the Red Sox and promptly captured Rookie of the Year and MVP honors. It was the first time anyone had ever won both awards in the same year. Lynn developed a swing that made him a natural Fenway Park hitter. Out in the field, he crashed into the centerfield wall so hard during Game Six of the 1975 World Series that the wall was soon padded in his honor. By the time he retired after 17 years in the game, Lynn had won four Gold Glove Awards, played in nine consecutive All-Star Games, hit the first-ever grand slam in an All-Star Game (in 1983) and stroked 1,960 career hits, including 306 home runs. Fred Lynn has hand signed this Boston Red Sox Mini Helmet. A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included. This signing courtesy of Steiner Sports.
